Managing Opt Out and Opt In
In today's digital communication landscape, it is essential to respect the preferences of your contacts regarding text message communications. Carrick Health provides a straightforward and compliant opt-out system to ensure that contacts can easily manage their messaging preferences. This document outlines the procedures for contacts to opt out of receiving messages, how to manually opt out a contact, and the process for contacts to opt back in.
How Contacts Can Opt Out
Contacts wishing to stop receiving text messages can do so effortlessly by sending the word STOP to your Carrick number. Upon sending this keyword, the contact will be automatically opted out, and you will no longer be able to send them text messages.
In addition to STOP, the following keywords are also supported for opting out:
STOPALL
UNSUBSCRIBE
CANCEL
END
REVOKE
OPTOUT
QUIT
How You Can Opt Out a Contact
If a contact requests to be opted out, you can manually process their request by following these steps:
Navigate to the Contacts page in your Carrick account.
Utilize the search bar to locate the contact in the Contacts table.
Once you find the correct contact, click the three-dot menu on the right-hand side of their entry.
Select Opt Out from the menu.
This action will immediately prevent any further messages from being sent to that contact.
How Contacts Can Opt Back In
Only the contact themselves can opt back in; you are unable to do this on their behalf. To re-subscribe, the contact must text one of the following keywords to your Carrick number:
START
YES
UNSTOP
Once they send one of these keywords, they will be removed from the opt-out list, and you will be able to text them again.
Best Practices
It is advisable to inform your contacts that they can reply with STOP at any time if they no longer wish to receive messages. This practice not only helps build trust but also ensures compliance with messaging regulations.
